The experience of menopause is a highly individualized one. Some women sail through it with no problems but others may have to face some unpleasant symptoms like mood swings, disturbed sleep etc. due to the fall in estrogen level in the body. The role of Bio identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is to alleviate the symptoms as well as maintain the hormone levels in the patient undergoing the therapy. BHRT is effective as the chemical compounds that are administered are almost identical to the natural hormones of the body. After menopause, women are more at risk of certain medical conditions. This is one of the reasons why hormone replacement therapy is prescribed to help protect against heart disease and other medical conditions in women. BHRT has been successful in treating the symptoms of menopause. During menopause there is a reduction in the levels of the hormone estrogen in the body. To replace the lost estrogen, a combination of medicines are made by the compounding pharmacy by combining two or more medicines (BHRT compounding) to get the desired results with practically no side effects to the patient. This is one of the reasons why people prefer this form of treatment. As the symptoms of menopause vary in different people we find that their medication needs also vary dramatically. So, in BHRT compounding, a combination of a number of medicines provides the required strength of drug dosage for suiting individual needs and provides the maximum health benefits to the patient. Since the treatment can be made available in a tablet form or as a cream or gel or a suspension form of the required combination of medicines, it is easy for the patients to follow this drug administration routine, especially the chronically ill patients who have to take multiple drugs at the same time. With all the positive effects of the medicines prepared by the compounding pharmacy, we find more and more people opting for BHRT. As the medicines can be easily administered, the general practitioners are recommending the use of compounded medicines to a greater number of patients. By the use of these medicines, the symptoms of menopause can be alleviated without causing further health issues to the patients. BHRT is definitely a better alternative to conventional methods of hormone replacement therapy and the combinations of medicines combat the symptoms of menopause in a more effective way and maintain the levels of the lost estrogen in the body of the menopausal women. These medicines, when taken over the long term, pose no risks to the patient and are therefore eminently suitable for patients with multiple disorders. The organs in the body of the patient are also protected and it can be also used as a preventive method to rejuvenate the production of bones in the body by promoting estrogen levels. Menopause is a new phase in a woman’s life. With the help of BHRT compounding, a woman is able to manage the symptoms associated with menopause and the reduction in estrogen levels in the body that accompanies menopause.
